For the Record, can I just announce to anyone that cares that I _REALLY_ hate it when I'm working along (totally engrossed in what I'm doing) and Outlook decides it's time to steal the focus - because an email, that it's been struggling with (for some uknown reason) finally makes it to the inbox.
Oh, it's not terribly common, but it IS terribly annoying. Today I was in the middle of testing code in a VPC of all places - and POOF, all of a sudden OUTLOOK pops up in front of everything I'm doing... seizes up my computer, churns for a fraction of a second, and plops out an email.
WARNING: Crass content - read at your own risk:
We all know that Outlook gets a little 'blocked up' at times. But every time it does this, it's like it's just given birth to a new, steaming, log. There's some grunting, groaning, and a SPLASH. Then there's 'toilet water' everywhere... and I'm forced to witness the entire ordeal.
Maybe it just needs my attention - to let it know that I approve. Maybe I should try talking to it when something like this happens... somthing soothing perhaps:
Wow Outlook. Good job. Ewwww... ouch, a new 19KB email from [So and So] that you were having a hard time with eh?
Need me to go get you the Tucks?
No?
Sure? - cuz I can tell this was hard on you.
Well, glad to see you're feeling better.
Hey, if it's not too much bother, would you mind if I GOT BACK TO WORK!!!!1111???
Only that would be suicide. I think we all know not to piss Outlook off.
*Wanders off... muttering: "Multi-threaded my a#@! " *
