1) California Creates a new law: Kids can't buy extremely violent games without parental consent.
2) Judge shoots down law.
Why?
Whyte indicated in his decision that games are protected by the first amendment of the US Constitution and that it appeared likely the gaming industry would come out the winner in a court battle over the issue.
Uh. Agreed. No one's stopping game makers from MAKING and selling these games. Just attempting to use some common sense on who can get their hands on them.
What's next? porn, firearms, booze, cigs for kids too?
You know, we wouldn't want to infringe upon auto-maker's abilities to express themselves either - so kids should be able to buy (and drive) cars now?
Somebody tell me this judge isn't taking bribes.
And if he's NOT corrupt, he's stupid - so he should still lose his job.
