As an Anthropology major for 3+ years in college, I've kept an eye on Richard Dawkins' conceptualization/verbalization of the term meme. Rather than go into my ideas about the concept... i'll just jump into this latest one I found on Carson's Blog (take him up on tracing the meme chain), as I think it presents good hope for viability:
My Ten Random Songs:
1. Speed - Paul Oakenfold
2. Prayers For Rain - The Cure
3. Istanbul (Not Constantinople) - They Might Be Giants
4. LetUGo - ATB
5. Thick As Thieves - Natalie Merchant
6. Breakin On The Streets - The Crystal Method
7. Karelia Suite: Ballade - Jean Sibelius
8. Laudate peuri : Sit nomen Domeni - Antonio Vivaldi
9. Over the Rainbow (What a Wonder) - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
10. Ja'at Mu'athibati - Fairuz
(Happily nothing TRULY embarrasing made it in the shuffle; some of my 'weirder' music made it in though... despite the fact that I don't listen to that as much as things like techno etc most of the time (while I'm coding which requires too much brain capacity for any thought-provoking music)).
Of course, as I finish typing this... and realizing how cool the whole meme concept is... I've just realized that while I've done my best to keep it going forward, the fact that no one reads my blog makes the whole point rather moot on my part. *sniff*
Hey, I read your blog! ;-)

Well, of course you do. But I got the meme from you, so you don't count (in this context). But don't take that the wrong way... I don't want to upset my 'user base' and send them ALL ;) packing in an instant.
