So, I've been VERY quiet about ReverseDOS of late.
No. It's not because I've been stealthily working on it. I simply haven't had time. That said, I'm surprised at the places it keeps showing up. That, and people keep downloading it, and occasionally emailing me about it. So people are using it - and that's encouraging.
Within the next few weeks I'll add support to allow ReverseDOS to ignore 'trusted' directories on your site. In other words, if you've got some sort of authentication in place on your /admin/ directory, for example, you can just tell ReverseDOS to ignore it. A few people have asked for it, and it makes perfect sense.
Then, I'll add the ability to suck in 'definitions' or filters from other sites/sources. I'll just let you specify a url you want to 'subscribe' to. That way when ReverseDOS fires up, it will open up an async thread to that site, pull down the contents, and then translate the entries into a great big filter. Another value in the config entry will specify how many hours you want that 'filter' stored in your cache before it is invalidated. The big benefit is that it will let people point to lists like this one (the infamous MT blacklist). And, if anyone out there using it feels brave enough, they can just put a text file out on their site for other ReverseDOS users to pummel, etc.
Expect all that late Sept or early October.
